Angular contact ball bearings
Angular contact ball bearings can take both radial and axial loads in one direction. The axial load is always dependent on the respective contact angle. The greater the contact angle is, is the higher the possible axial load. However, this reduces the operating speed of the bearing. Typically, angular contact ball bearings are always used in pairs, but the play between the two bearings must be accurately set. The most common cage type of angular contact ball bearings is the plastic cage but also brass or steel sheet cages are used. In addition, the angular contact ball bearing can also be used as a twin-row version. These correspond to two single row angular contact ball bearings in a back-to-back arrangement with common inner and outer rings. These can absorb axial loads in both directions.
