Axial deep groove ball bearings
Axial ball bearings consist of two or three disc-like bearing rings with raceway grooves. They are available as single-action and double-action models. The ring attached to the shaft is known as a shaft washer and the ring attached to the body is called the housing washer. The Central ring, or shaft washer, is mounted on the shaft of the double direction design. To compensate for shaft misalignment or mounting error, the axial ball bearings can also be equipped with adjustable shims underneath the housing washers. In small bearings a steel cage is used, in the larger versions a solid brass cage.
