Deep groove ball bearings
The deep groove ball bearing is the most used form of rolling bearings. The circular grooves on the inner and outer rings have a larger radius than the balls. Apart from radial forces, the deep groove ball bearings can absorb axial forces in both directions. They are also well suited especially for applications with high speeds due to their low friction moment. The deep groove ball bearings are also available as an open type with a shield of steel or a seal of rubber. The sealed and capped form is already greased. The most common cage type of deep groove ball bearings is the steel cage. In addition, the deep groove ball bearings can also be used as a twin-row version. These correspond to a pair of single row deep groove ball bearings in structure and function. Open and capped deep groove ball bearings are also available with filling slots. This increases the number of fillable balls, but deep groove ball bearings with filling slots are not suitable for applications with high axial loads. Another version of the classic deep groove ball bearings is the shoulder ball bearing, which has a slightly flatter inner ring and is easier to mount due to the detachable outer ring.
