Self-aligning ball bearings
The self-aligning ball bearing has an inner ring with two raceways. The center of the concave outer ring is located on the bearing axis. The inner ring, the bearings and the cage are therefore pivotable to some extent around the bearing center. This allows minor angular misalignments of the shaft and housing. Often this type of bearing is made in addition to the cylindrical bore with a tapered bore for mounting using an adapter sleeve. The most common cage-style here is the plastic cage whereby brass and steel cages are also possible.
